Cortijo el Molino – A country house in the Taberno area. (Renovated)
Large renovated 7 bedroom country house situated in a beautiful rural location around 20 minutes from the small town of Taberno which offers all amenities for daily living. The town of Velez Rubio is around a 30 minute drive.
With a build size of around 477m2, this detached two storey house is set in a plot of around 7000m2 (to be officially measured). It used to be a working mill and has been renovated whilst maintaining traditional features including the original mill stones.
There are two entrance doors to the front of the house, one of which opens into a bright & spacious Andalucian style kitchen / dining room with a fabulous traditional fireplace housing a wood burner. The room offers ample space for a dining area as well as a more relaxed seating area. To one end of the kitchen, a door leads through to a reception / sitting room with wooden doors leading out a gravelled garden area to the side of the property. Also to this side of the house is a door leading into an enclosed bar area with feature high ceiling.
To the opposite end of the kitchen, a door leads through to a cosy TV snug with a wood burner. From here, a door leads through to the original mill room which contains the original mill workings and also has access via the second front door. The mill room gives access to a good sized utility room, and another room which has a fireplace housing a bread oven. Steps from this room leads up to a large bedroom which has plumbing in place for a ensuite to one end.
From the kitchen a staircase leads up to one side of the first floor which comprises five bedrooms, a shower room, a large bathroom and two separate WCs. One of the bedrooms has a door opening onto an external staircase which leads down to the side of the house.
To the other end of the house, a steep staircase leads up to the other side of the first floor which could be used as a self contained guest annexe. There is a very large living room with an Andalucian style kitchenette to one end, and a door leading out to the rear of the property where it would be possible to create a private patio area as the surrounding land is higher to the rear of the house. There is also a large double bedroom, a shower room and a storeroom.
To the front of the house is a gravelled terrace area with fantastic views and a purpose built barbecue and seating area. Steps lead down to a large gravelled parking area with a turning circle, and further steps lead down to another flat area of land. The remainder of the land is mostly hillside.
